Siri!

One of the most anticipated features announced at the iPhone 4S launh is Siri. Siri, a voice recognition app, isn't a new concept, however it makes voice control much more exciting. If the live demo and preview video are anything to go by, it can potentially revolutionalise the way we interact with our devices.

Android smartphones have featured deep integration with Google's voice recognition app, however it was only a "direct translator" method, and would not respond back. Siri takes it to the next level, and uses artificial intelligence to interpret what you say to gather meaning and come back with a response that is not simply a text to speech translation.

Siri can perform various tasks on phones, which previosuly required touch interactions. Siri can set a reminder, send a text, check the weather, set a meeting, send an email, get directions, and initiate web searches.

The video below outlines how Siri works. Siri will be an iPhone 4S exclusive, as it takes advantage of the dual core A5 processor to perform the complex oprerations required.
