Do you ever think we'll get to a point where we'll be so dependent on our phones, that it may really do us more harm then good? It only really just occurred to me. Have a look at the start of this video, and think: is that me? is that how I react when I find that one app that just blows my mind

How to get the best battery life out of your smartphones.
Has your cell phone ever died when you needed it the most?!
Well then we're basically gonna teach you about
Battery Calibration and Power Cycling:
Both of these are sure fire ways of improving the battery life of your smartphones!
So in order to Calibrate your smartphone's battery, you need to under go a process called "power cycling"
Carefully follow these Steps:
- Jump on facebook, foursquare, eat up all that data and battery life on youtube, text all your friends, go crazy, but make sure you RUN DOWN THE BATTERY, to a point where the device shuts off by itself.
- Next step; pop the battery out and give it about 15-20 seconds, before you insert it back in and repeat step 1, if it takes less than a minute for the battery to run out again, and for the device to shut down, then you're on the right track, move onto the next step!
- And Finally, we move on to *Power Cycling - this is when you pop the battery out, once again, and hold the power button for 1 minute.
- Next you insert the battery, but DO NOT switch on the smartphone just yet! Hook it up to a charger and wait until it is fully charged.
**REMEMBER YOU WILL NOT SEE A DRAMATIC IMPROVEMENT IN YOUR SMARTPHONES BATTERY LIFE. BUT IT WILL, MOST CERTAINLY SAVE YOUR NEW ONE FROM DYING WELL BEFORE THE PHONE BECOMES DATED!
Now if you're finding that a little hard to follow, our friends at www.wirelessground.com have put together a simple video guide for you to follow.

THIS JUST IN: credit cards are out, smartphones are in baby!
So all it’ll take is the wave of a smartphone, and BAM transaction approved.. well yeah, in theory.
First I heard of this was sometime around August last year. In the US, Barclays Bank and Discover were teaming up with AT&T, Verizon and T-mobile in order to provide their respective customers with access to a brand new technology.
This technology, also known as Near Field Communication (NFC) could potentially allow their customers to make purchases straight from their Blackberry, iPhone, or whatever other smartphone they used with that network provider. This was to overshadow the somewhat old-fashioned, and I use that term lightly, means of swiping of a credit card.
And this is when I first heard of the concept of “wave and pay”, which really kicked the poor old ‘soon to be’ out-dated credit card to the kerb.Rather than having the big fish credit card companies like Visa, MasterCard and American Express, Discover (the current fourth biggest credit card company in the US) was looking to outwit it’s rivals by jumping onto this new technology before they took hold and offered it, and this was so effective that the shares of Visa and MasterCard dropped at the word of this technology leak.
So like the 3D technology, do you think this will work as a gamechanger or smartphones?
Do you think these figures look about right? In terms of how popular this NFC “wave and pay” technology will be? I won't lie, It does look pretty promising and neat to me!! super nifty technology

is it just me, or is 3D taking over?
| Source: Disney |
So guys, as a few of you may know, I was watching Lion King
3D the other day, as it just came out in the cinemas. So the way I see it, they’ve
basically gone and taken one of the all-time greatest movies… dare I say, one
of the greatest concepts and chucked it into the world of 3D.
Now I’m sure we’ve all heard to the saying “if it ain't broke, don't fix it ” ..So that got me thinking, contrary to that belief, to me it seems that 3D technology is slowly, but surely working its way into almost all industries and merging with other technologies to create something so subtly different, yet so beautiful.
So I'm gonna skip the basics, I'm pretty sure if you're all on this blog, you must be quite familiar by now with smartphones (if not, please do care to scroll down and a a skim over some of our previous posts) So I'm not going to get into any of the boring stuff about how 3D technology works, unless of course judging by your feedback, that is what you're interested, but for now I'll stick to the exciting stuff. So there is no doubt, that from films to TVs to
gaming, 3D is BIG right now,
and I see that smartphones are next.
| the embarrassing trend of Nivea's recent phone bills. |
So Since my current
phone contract is coming to a halt…
For obvious reason (my current rate plan is TERRIBLE!!).
I’ve found myself researching the new 3D phones currently on
the market.
SO I’VE GONE AND COMPILED SOMETHING OF A HOTLIST.

October 14 awaits...
As I walk through the doors to work on Friday morning, this is what I expect the majority of conversations with my customers to be...

In many of my previous posts, I have emphasised on the genius which is the Apple marketing department, and conversations such as this exemplify this.
Demand for the new iPhone 4S is expected to be the highest ever for any phone ever to be released, with the AT&T network in the USA anticipating about 1 million pre orders. Yes, media outlets all over the world, were very critical about the "disappointing" release of the phone, but even still pre orders are still high.
Once again, marketing genius. Apple never promised us any iPhone 5, so why were we disappointed?
At least this time around, I won't have to plug the things into iTunes for activation, since iOS5 will bring over the air activation, designed for the "post-PC" era.
